Hot And Cold Mixer for PVC Resin | SRL-Z Vertical PVC Mixing Unit High Speed Mixer And Cooling Mixer | Chenxing

Availability:

Product Description

What This Unit Is

A PVC compounder needs two quite different things from one mixing setup. First, heat and shear to drive the resin and the additives into each other. Then, fast cooling while the material is still moving, so the compound sets as a free flowing powder instead of fusing into lumps.

The SRL-Z series vertical mixing unit does both in one frame. A high speed hot mixer sits on top, a low speed cooling mixer sits underneath, and the material drops from one to the other by gravity. No forklift, no transfer conveyor, no second machine to buy.

It is built for PVC resin and other powdery materials, and it runs batch by batch. A typical batch cycles through hot mixing and cold mixing in 8 to 10 minutes. That cycle time, not the drum size, is what sets your hourly output.

Sizing the unit is the first decision. Capacities across the family run from 10 L to 4000 L, and the model numbering already tells you the pairing. SRL-200/600 is a 200 L hot mixer over a 600 L cooling mixer. Between mixing unit and auxiliary machines there is a setup for most compound shops, small trial batches through to full pipe plant demand.

How The Hot And Cold Mixing Cycle Works

1. Weighing and charging

Resin, stabiliser, filler, lubricant and pigment go in by weight. The mixing quality of the batch is decided before the machine starts, because a badly weighed batch cannot be mixed back into specification. Where the recipe is fixed and volumes are high, the dosing side usually sits with an automatic compounding system or the broader automatic compounding system solution.

2. Hot mixing, self-friction heating

The high speed blade spins in a disc shaped drum and throws the powder outward and upward in a spiral path. Particles hit each other and the wall at speed, and that friction is the heat source. Self friction electric heating brings the material up to temperature quickly, and the powder heats from the inside out rather than waiting for a jacket to conduct through it. No external steam, no oil circuit, no burner.

3. Temperature control and discharge

Once the batch reaches its set point, the hot mixer discharges down into the cooling mixer below. The gate opens by hand or by pneumatic cylinder, depending on the configuration you order.

4. Cold mixing

The cooling mixer turns slowly, at a fraction of the hot mixer speed, and keeps the batch in motion while water cooling pulls the heat out. Slow stirring is the point. A fast blade at this stage would shear a compound that is already at temperature and reintroduce the heat you just removed. Low speed agitation with cooling gives you a powder that stays free flowing in the bag.

5. Unload

The finished dry blend leaves the cooling mixer to a silo, a big bag station or straight into the feed hopper of the next machine.

Speeds. Speed control is dual speed. Range on the hot and cold sides is given as 750/1500 and 180-370/740 r/min, with a low speed main shaft at 375-960 r/min and a high speed main shaft at 740-1500 r/min. The two motors run independently, so heat input and cooling rate are set separately.

Drum and blade geometry. Disc drum shape, spiral stirring type. The disc profile keeps the batch circulating instead of letting it settle in a dead zone at the bottom, which is what happens in a drum with the wrong bottom contour.

Customizable voltage.

Standard operating voltage is 380V 50Hz 3 phase, and it is set to your plant supply on order.

Downstream of the mixer, the dry blend usually feeds a pipe extrusion line or a profile extrusion line.

Two notes on the table, because we would rather flag them than quietly alter them.

  • The effective capacity cell of SRL-200/1600 reads 350/120 and the weight column of SRL-200/1800 reads 8 while SRL-200/2000 reads 7.3. These cells are carried through exactly as published. Where a nameplate figure and a build drawing disagree, the build drawing for your order is what we work from, and it is confirmed on the order confirmation before production starts.

  • Motor power is given as a pair, hot side over cold side. A 110/20 unit runs a much larger hot mixer motor than a 11/15.5 unit, and that step reflects the blade weight and the powder load the hot drum has to throw.

How to read the range

  • Capacity climbs by roughly three times from the smallest to the largest. 50/100 L at the bottom of the range, 800/2000 L at the top. The cooling volume is usually about double the hot volume, which gives the cooling side enough residence time while the next batch heats in the drum above.

  • Blade speed falls as capacity rises. 100/180 r/min on the smallest model down to 60/50 r/min on the largest. Large blades cannot turn fast without throwing the whole machine around, so the big units mix by moving a large volume slowly rather than a small volume fast.

  • Air consumption scales with the pneumatic discharge. From 3 m3/h on the entry model to 12 m3/h on the largest. If you order manual discharge, this column does not apply to you.

  • Overall dimensions grow in height as well as footprint. The largest unit sits at 4550 mm on the height dimension, which decides whether it fits under your existing roof and how you bring it into the building.

Other published figures for the series: mixing capacity range 50/100 to 800/2000, volume 5 L to 2000 L, heat and cool mixing time 8 to 10 minutes per batch, speed range 750/1500 and 180-370/740 r/min, low speed main shaft 375-960 r/min, high speed main shaft 740-1500 r/min. The SHR series, the SRL-W horizontal series and the SRL-Z vertical series together cover 10 L to 4000 L. Production capacity is stated at 30,000 sets per year. HS code 84779000. Packaging specification as published: 458.00 cm * 224.00 cm * 250.00 cm, gross weight 3800.000 kg, wooden pallet and PE film.Mixing sits at the head of several lines. See pipe extrusion line solution, PVC pipe extrusion line solution, profile extrusion line solution, board and sheet extrusion line, plastic pelletizing line and extruder.

Where Mixed PVC Compound Goes

The dry blend out of a hot and cold mixer is an intermediate product, and every downstream machine in a PVC plant depends on it being right.

PVC pipe extrusion. Rigid PVC pipe is the biggest consumer. The compound must be uniform in stabiliser and filler, or wall thickness and impact strength vary from metre to metre. Related lines: HDPE pipe production line 16-1600 mm, double wall corrugated pipe extrusion line, single wall corrugated pipe extrusion line, ABS pipe production line, PPR pipe extrusion line solution.

Profile and window production. PVC profiles for windows, doors, trunking and edge strip need a blend that feeds evenly and does not bridge in the hopper. See PVC shelf label strip extrusion line and PVC fiber reinforced soft pipe extrusion line.

Sheet, board and decorative panels. Dry blend for sheet and board, including marbled and patterned products. See PVC UV marble sheet making line.

Masterbatch and additive preparation. Where the mixer is used to pre-blend additives, colourants and fillers into a concentrate, or to dry and pre-heat material before a compounding step.

Granulating and recycling routes. Material recovered from recycling lines often needs drying and re-blending before it can be processed again. The unit offers a drying capability alongside mixing, which matters when incoming material carries surface moisture. Related scope: plastic recycling line solution, washing and recycling production line, two stage recycling machine, plastic agglomerator.

Materials handled. Granules, powder and liquid additions, with application area given as plastic. Final product type is PVC additives compounding and mixing material.

Customization Boundaries

The machine is built to order and the published feature list says the design can follow material, power and colour requirements. That is a real capability, and it has edges.

What we will change

  • Capacity and model. Nine published models from SRL-250/100 up to SRL-200/2000, with the wider family covering 10 L to 4000 L across the SHR, SRL-W and SRL-Z series. Peak and typical batch sizes both matter here.

  • Heating arrangement. Self friction electric heating is standard. Where the recipe needs more heat than friction alone can supply, the electric heating circuit covers the gap.

  • Cooling. Water cooling on the cooling mixer. Your water supply temperature and flow rate decide how fast the batch comes down, so tell us what your plant has.

  • Discharge arrangement. Manual or pneumatic, chosen per machine. Manual suits low batch counts and single shifts. Pneumatic suits frequent batches and operators who should not be standing at a gate all day.

  • Drum material and finish. Carbon steel or stainless steel. Stainless is usual where the compound is corrosive, where contamination between recipes is a problem, or where the product is for a regulated end use.

  • Voltage and controls. Standard 380V 50Hz 3 phase, customized to your supply. Control arrangement follows the level of automation you want, from push button operation to recipe driven batch control.

  • Dosing and feeding. The mixer can be quoted on its own, or with the weighing and metering upstream. Automatic weighing and metering systems are part of the same product family.

  • Colour and finish. Machine colour is set to your requirement.

  • Machine outgoing video. A running video of the unit can be provided before shipment.

What we will not do

  • Rewrite the specification table. The cells are published values and they stay as published, including the ones flagged above.

  • Promise a tonnage that ignores cycle time. Output depends on batch size and the 8 to 10 minute cycle, plus the labour available to weigh and charge. Ask for an hourly number and we will work it out with you rather than quote one at you.

  • Sell a dryer as a mixer or a mixer as a dryer. This unit mixes and can dry material, and cooling is by water. If your process needs a different drying principle, that is a different machine.

  • Confirm layout before we know your building. Overall dimensions run to 4550 mm high on the larger units. Check your door height, roof clearance and lifting route before the order rather than after.

  • Take a shortcut on inspection to hit a date. Every unit gets 100% inspection including visual and function checks before delivery. That check is part of the product, not an optional extra.

Quality And Certification

Quality control on a mixer concentrates on four things: whether the drum and blade hold their balance, whether the shaft and bearing arrangement survives years of high speed running, whether the temperature control is repeatable batch after batch, and whether the electrical work is safe.

  • Balancing and blade condition. The rotor and blades are balanced as an assembly before the machine runs. An unbalanced high speed blade shakes the whole frame and shows up as bearing wear months later.

  • Shaft and bearings. The main shafts are sized for the blade loads in the hot and cold drums. High speed main shaft speed is published at 740-1500 r/min, and the bearing selection follows that duty.

  • Temperature repeatability. Self friction heating with electric assistance means the batch reaches its set point the same way every cycle. Repeatable temperature is what makes the compound repeatable.

  • Inspection. 100% inspection including visual and function checks before delivery. This covers the drum, the drive, the electrical panel and the discharge mechanism.

  • Certification. The company holds ISO9001 and CE certification for its machinery. Where the statement is made in the source data, we repeat it plainly and do not add certificates beyond those held.

  • After delivery. Engineers are available to service machinery overseas for installation and problem solving. Online support and video technical support are also offered. We send engineers to install and test machines and to provide technology guidance and worker training at the customer's factory. Warranty is 1 year.
