Product Description
The Extrusion Scrap and Reject Pipe Crusher is a cutterless pipe granulator that takes HDPE pipe plant startup scrap, out-of-spec pipe, purge blocks and reject lengths up to 800 mm outside diameter, and converts them into granulate for recycling. The published 630 mm family reference machine runs at 185 kW with a two stage feed opening (500 x 500 mm upper, 650 x 650 mm lower) and an integrated infeed conveyor, so waste pipe goes straight from the line side into the machine.
A pipe extrusion line does not run perfect pipe all the time. There is startup scrap when the line is brought up to temperature, out-of-spec pipe while settings are dialled in, reject lengths when the wall thickness drifts, and purge blocks when the die is changed. All of it is heavy, awkward and expensive to move. This crusher sits at the point where that waste is generated, takes whole lengths through the lower feed opening and small items through the upper opening, and returns the material as granulate that can be recycled.
That changes how a pipe plant treats its waste:
Start-up scrap and reject pipe are reduced where they fall, not carried out whole.
No pre-cutting labour, so nobody stands over a bandsaw cutting heavy pipe into crusher-size pieces.
One machine covers both full length reject pipe and line-side offcuts.
The granulate goes downstream to washing, drying and pelletizing, so the value stays in the plant.
Positioning in short:
Maximum pipe diameter: up to 800 mm outside diameter for HDPE, PP and PE, confirmed at enquiry
Machine type: horizontal cutterless pipe crusher with integrated infeed conveyor
Family reference power: 185 kW main drive, as published for the 630 mm unit
Reference feed openings: 650 x 650 mm lower and 500 x 500 mm upper
Box opening: hydraulic, for fast blade access and cleaning
The pipe production side is covered under pipe extrusion line, hdpe pipe extrusion line solution and HDPE pipe production line 16-1600mm. Other pipe families generate the same waste stream, so the machine also pairs with ppr pipe extrusion line solution and pvc pipe extrusion line solution.
Every figure below is reproduced as published for the 630 mm reference machine in this family. Nothing on this page has been invented.

The family reference machine is published at 630 mm with 185 kW and a 650 x 650 mm lower feed opening; the extended configuration accepts HDPE, PP and PE pipe up to 800 mm outside diameter, with the full specification confirmed at enquiry.
For the 800 mm layer we confirm these items on the order specification rather than printing estimates:
Feed opening dimensions for the 800 mm configuration
Main drive power for the 800 mm configuration
Rotor, blade count and blade geometry for the 800 mm configuration
Box plate thickness and overall dimensions
Conveyor size for your pipe lengths and site layout
The lower feed opening (650 x 650 mm) is the opening that accepts full reject pipe lengths from the line. On the published reference it supports HDPE pipe up to 630 mm outside diameter; the extended platform is confirmed to 800 mm at enquiry.
The upper feed opening (500 x 500 mm) takes startup scrap, offcuts, purge blocks and profile scrap, so line-side waste does not need a second machine.
Power (185 kW on the published reference) is sized for continuous size reduction of thick wall HDPE, which is exactly what a plant that runs around the clock needs.
The infeed conveyor (650 mm x 4 m) lets an operator lay a reject length on the belt and let the machine take it, instead of pushing a heavy pipe by hand.
Hydraulic box opening keeps blade maintenance short when the crusher runs continuously.
Related lines in the same family: pipe extrusion line solution, other type pipe extrusion line solution, 3 layer high speed PE PPR HDPE pipe extrusion line and corrugated pipe extrusion line solution.
Materials and products. The machine processes HDPE, PP and PE pipe waste: startup scrap, out-of-spec pipe, reject lengths, purge blocks and offcuts. On the published reference unit the working material family is HDPE pipe, and the extended configuration is confirmed for HDPE, PP and PE pipe up to 800 mm outside diameter.
Applications. This crusher is aimed at the waste stream that a pipe plant or a pipe contractor actually generates.
| Application | Typical material | Why this machine fits |
|---|---|---|
| HDPE pipe extrusion plants | Pipe start-up scrap, out-of-spec pipe, purge blocks | Whole pipe feeds in directly from the line side, no pre-cutting |
| Pipe installation and utility contractors | Offcut and rejected lengths of large diameter pipe | Compact main machine, conveyor-fed loading |
| Water supply and gas pipeline projects | Heavy wall HDPE service pipe | 185 kW reference drive handles thick wall without stalling |
| Municipal drainage and sewer projects | Large diameter drainage pipe | Lower 650 x 650 mm opening takes full pipe sections |
| Pipe stockyards and traders | Mixed stock, damaged pipe, end-of-life pipe | Upper 500 x 500 mm opening handles smaller pipe and offcuts too |
| Plastics recycling plants | HDPE pipe collected from multiple sites | Conveyor infeed for continuous, single-operator feeding |
Working conditions. The machine is installed at floor level as a complete set, main machine plus infeed conveyor and control cabinet. It needs a level, load-bearing concrete floor, a suitable three-phase power supply for the 185 kW reference main drive, and enough clear space in front of the conveyor to lay down a full pipe length before feeding. Because the machine is horizontal and cutterless, height clearance above the feed opening is much lower than on a vertical pipe crusher, which helps when the crusher is added to an existing pipe shop.
Who this machine suits
Pipe extrusion plants that want reject pipe and startup scrap back into the process instead of paying to move it.
Plants running HDPE, PP or PE lines that want one crusher for both full length reject pipe and line-side scrap.
Contractors that collect offcuts and rejected lengths on site.
Recycling plants that take in scrap pipe from many sources.
The drainage pipe side of the plant is covered under plastic drainage pipe machine and single wall corrugated pipe extrusion line. Downstream recovery is covered under plastic recycling line solution.
This is a built to order machine. Customization is about fitting the crusher to the waste stream and the plant.
What we will change
Conveyor length and width. The standard reference conveyor is 650 mm x 4 m; longer or shorter conveyors are discussed together with your pipe lengths.
Voltage and frequency. The electrical control cabinet is built for your plant supply.
Feeding arrangement. The position of the conveyor relative to the chamber can be adapted to your floor layout.
Blade configuration. Blade material and edge geometry are selected for the pipe wall thickness you process.
Discharge arrangement. Discharge height and direction are adapted to your downstream conveying.
Complete recycling line integration. The crusher can be supplied as part of a plant that includes washing, drying and pelletizing.
What is fixed by the platform
The published reference machine carries 630 mm as its top published pipe size. Larger pipe moves to the extended 800 mm configuration, and the 800 mm figures are confirmed at enquiry rather than printed as estimates.
The reference feed opening dimensions, 500 x 500 mm upper and 650 x 650 mm lower, as published for the 630 mm unit.
The reference 10 blade rotor and 30 mm box plate construction, the published structural specification of the 630 mm unit.
The reference main drive power of 185 kW, sized to the published cutting chamber.
The reference overall dimensions of 3900 x 1800 x 2500 mm, fixed by the published frame.
No figure is invented for the 800 mm layer. Numbers that are not published for the reference unit are confirmed at enquiry and written into the quotation.
Downstream equipment that completes the loop includes washing and recycling production line, washing line machines, plastic pelletizing line, two stage recycling machine and plastic agglomerator.
Quality control on a machine of this size is about structure and repeatability, not only appearance.
Frame and chamber. The horizontal chamber is built from 30 mm box plates, a heavy fabricated structure rather than a folded sheet housing, so the cutting chamber holds its geometry under continuous large pipe loads.
Rotor assembly. The reference rotor carries 10 blades and runs as a complete assembly on the test run before dispatch, so the machine is checked for smooth running at the installed drive power.
Hydraulic system. The box opening cylinder and its 3 kW hydraulic cylinder motor are function-tested through full open-and-close cycles before dispatch.
Conveyor and control. The 650 mm x 4 m conveyor and the electrical control cabinet are wired and run as a set, so commissioning on site is a matter of connection and check rather than assembly.
Pre-delivery inspection. Incoming steel plate and components are inspected, the fabrication process is patrolled, and the complete machine is re-inspected before delivery.
Warranty and documentation. The machine is supplied with a 1-year warranty and with the machine manual, wiring diagram and hydraulic diagram.
Manufacturing follows ISO 9001 quality management, and machines are supplied with CE marking for export markets. Chenxing Machinery was established in 2002, has worked in plastic machinery for over 20 years and has been exporting for 16 years, based in China.
Chenxing builds the extrusion and recycling equipment that surrounds the crusher, so the whole line can be specified by one supplier: see auxiliary machines, mixing unit, automatic compounding system, automatic compounding system solution and the advanced material processing EPC project service.
MOQ. One set. Each crusher is built to order against the confirmed specification, so a single set is the normal starting quantity; multi-set orders for a group of plants are quoted together.
Scope of supply per set. Main machine, infeed conveyor (650 mm x 4 m, 4 kW) and electrical control cabinet (1 unit), plus blades as specified.
Payment terms. T/T, L/C and Western Union.
Incoterms. FOB, EXW, CFR, CIF and CIP.
Lead time. Confirmed at order, since the machine is built to specification; ordering earlier in the year avoids peak season pressure.
Packing. Export packing suitable for sea transport, with the main machine secured on a reinforced base, and the conveyor and cabinet packed separately.
Shipping. The whole set is shipped as one consignment; the loading plan and container or flat-rack arrangement are confirmed before dispatch.
Installation and training. Our engineers guide installation and train your operators on feeding technique, blade rotation and hydraulic box operation.
Technical documents and machine files are collected under download; machine news and application articles are posted on news. Company background on about us.
Startup scrap is the pipe produced while an extrusion line is brought up to temperature and settings, and it can be a full length of large diameter pipe. It is heavy, awkward and expensive to move, and pre-cutting it into crusher-size pieces costs hours of labour. This machine takes it whole.
Yes. Out-of-spec pipe and purge blocks feed through the lower opening on the reference arrangement, and smaller items go through the upper opening. The material and wall thickness are confirmed at enquiry.
Beside the waste stream it serves, typically near the extrusion line or at the plant's scrap collection point. The machine needs a level, load-bearing concrete floor, a three-phase supply for the 185 kW reference drive, and clear space in front of the conveyor to lay down a full pipe length.
The granulate is conveyed downstream to washing, drying and pelletizing, or to storage. The crusher can be quoted with the downstream equipment as one line.
Yes. That is the point of the machine. The granulate goes into the recycling loop and returns to the extrusion process as recovered material, so the value of the reject pipe stays in the plant.
It removes the pre-cutting step. No bandsaw operator, no chainsaw work, no manual sectioning. The operator lays the reject length on the infeed conveyor and the machine takes it in.
The published family reference machine runs at 185 kW main drive, with a 3 kW hydraulic cylinder motor and a 4 kW conveyor motor. Power for the 800 mm configuration is confirmed on the order specification.
On the published reference unit the lower opening is 650 x 650 mm and supports HDPE pipe up to 630 mm outside diameter. The extended configuration is confirmed up to 800 mm outside diameter at enquiry.
Yes. The crusher can be quoted with downstream equipment, washing, drying, conveying or pelletizing, as one line. See the plastic recycling line solution page for the full arrangement.
Because this machine is built to order, a complete inquiry is what allows an accurate quotation on the first reply. Please include:
Pipe material and diameter range. HDPE, PP or PE, and the largest outside diameter you need to process, whether 800 mm or below.
Pipe wall thickness. The thickest wall you will feed, since this drives blade geometry.
Pipe length. The typical and maximum length, which determines the conveyor arrangement.
Required output. The throughput target for your plant planning; this is confirmed as a project value, not a fixed figure of the standard machine.
Plant information. Available floor area, height clearance in front of the machine, and power supply (voltage, frequency, phase).
Downstream requirement. Whether you need washing, drying, conveying or pelletizing after the crusher, so the whole line can be quoted together.
Commercial expectations. Preferred Incoterm, destination port and required documents.
Site and certification requirements. Whether CE marking or other documentation is required for your market.
What you get back: a written quotation stating the complete configuration for the extrusion scrap crusher, main machine, infeed conveyor, hydraulic box opening, blades and electrical control cabinet, together with the packing plan, delivery schedule and Incoterm. The engineering team confirms that your reject pipe feeds directly without pre-cutting before the order is finalised.
