The FST45 covers the small-bore hose used on domestic pool cleaners and vacuum cleaners, while the FST65 moves up to the larger diameters used on commercial pool cleaning sets. The extruder is a single-screw design with a 38CrMoAlA screw and barrel, driven by a Siemens Beide motor with an ABB inverter and zone heating controlled by Ormon temperature controllers with Delixi relays. PE and EVA are extruded at a controlled melt temperature so the corrugated profile forms cleanly without internal stress. The corrugated exterior that gives the hose its flexibility and crush resistance is formed immediately after the die, with the profile closed in line while the smooth bore is held internally. The result is a hose with low flow resistance inside and high flexibility outside — produced at line speed 3-20 m/min depending on diameter and wall thickness.
Cooling follows forming, then a matched take-off pulls the hose at constant tension so wall thickness and corrugation pitch stay consistent along the coil. Finished hose is cut to length and fitted with end cuffs. Both cuff styles are available — the swivel cuff that rotates to eliminate kinks and the fixed cuff — and customers can specify colour, length, size and gram weight to match their market.
