Built around the SJS series single screw extruder platform, the line is available in four models with main motor power spanning 15 kW to 55 kW, auxiliary heating power from 180 kW to 600 kW, and line footprint from 16 m × 2.5 m to 21 m × 2.5 m. Marble surface patterns are achieved via either inline heat transfer printing (160–200°C, 2–5 m/min) or co-extruded ASA/PMMA marble-effect cap layer, accommodating the full spectrum of classic stone aesthetics — white Carrara, black Marquina, brown Emperador, grey travertine, and beige Botticino.

Core Features

Authentic Marble Surface Reproduction Achieve stone-look finishes indistinguishable from natural marble through precision heat transfer printing (film registration ±0.5 mm, temperature PID ±1°C) or co-extruded ASA/PMMA cap layer. Five classic marble patterns available with fast film changeover. The plastic embossing machine option adds tactile wood-grain or stone-texture embossing for multi-sensory realism.

Superior Water & Moisture Resistance PVC substrate exhibits near-zero water absorption (<0.1% per ASTM D570), making these profiles ideal for high-humidity environments such as bathrooms, kitchens, and basements where natural wood warps and natural marble suffers efflorescence.

Lightweight Construction Solid PVC profiles at 1.40–1.50 g/cm³ density weigh approximately 60–70% less than equivalent natural marble sections, simplifying transportation, handling, and on-site installation without heavy lifting equipment. Foam-core variants at 0.55–0.75 g/cm³ density further reduce weight by an additional 50%.

Fire-Rated B1 Classification Achieves B1 flame-retardant rating per GB 8624-1997 (equivalent to EN 13501-1 B-s1,d0), meeting stringent building code requirements for interior wall and ceiling materials in commercial and residential construction.

Formaldehyde-Free & Low VOC PVC formulation is inherently formaldehyde-free with low volatile organic compound emissions, compliant with indoor air quality standards including GB 18580 and California CARB Phase 2, contributing to green building certifications (LEED, BREEAM).

Fast Installation Workflow Profiles can be cut on-site with standard woodworking tools, attached via construction adhesive or mechanical clips — eliminating wet trades (cement mortar mixing, grouting) required for natural stone installation. Installation speed is typically 3–5× faster than natural marble trim.

Wide Processing Window Single formulation runs both solid and foam-core profiles by adjusting blowing agent content and die temperature profile. The SJS extruder's optimized screw design maintains melt homogeneity across a broad PVC compound viscosity range, minimizing formulation sensitivity.

Process Flow

  1. PVC Formulation & Dry Blending — PVC resin, CaCO₃ filler, stabilizers, lubricants, impact modifiers, and pigments are metered and mixed in a plastic heating mixer at 110–120°C, then cooled to 40°C for storage-ready dry blend.

  2. Single Screw Extrusion — Dry blend is fed through a hopper dryer into the single screw extruder, where it is plasticated at barrel temperatures of 155–195°C and forced through a profile die to form the continuous profile shape.

  3. Vacuum Calibration & Cooling — The hot profile enters a multi-zone vacuum calibration table, where external vacuum and internal air pressure shape the profile against precision calibrators. Water spray cooling from the chiller sets the final dimensions within ±0.3 mm tolerance.

  4. Marble Surface Application — The cooled profile passes through either a heat transfer printing station (160–200°C roller transfers marble pattern from PET film at 2–5 m/min) or a co-extrusion die (ASA/PMMA marble-effect cap layer applied by a secondary extruder). For textured finishes, an optional plastic embossing machine embosses synchronous wood-grain or stone texture.

  5. Haul-off & Precision Cutting — Dual-belt caterpillar haul-off unit pulls the finished profile at controlled speed. An automatic cutting machine with servo length control cuts profiles to programmed lengths, with cut-length accuracy of ±1.0 mm.

  6. Stacking & Packaging — Cut profiles are automatically stacked, counted, and packaged in protective shrink-wrap or cartons, ready for warehouse storage or container loading.

FAQ

1. How Are the Marble Patterns Applied to PVC Profiles?

Two proven technologies are available. Heat transfer printing uses a heated silicone roller (160–200°C, PID-controlled to ±1°C) to transfer marble patterns from pre-printed PET film onto the profile surface at linear speeds of 2–5 m/min. This method is cost-effective for interior applications, delivering a durable surface with 15+ years indoor service life. Co-extrusion applies a 0.1–0.5 mm ASA or PMMA cap layer compounded with marble-effect pigments directly during extrusion, forming a UV-stable, weather-resistant surface suitable for 5–8 years of outdoor exposure. For indoor decorative profiles, heat transfer printing is recommended for its lower capital investment and faster pattern changeover.

2. How Many Profile Shapes Can One Line Produce?

A single line can produce all six standard profile shapes (flat trim, crown molding, baseboard, corner bead, window casing, door frame) within a profile envelope of ∅50–200 mm. Die and calibrator changeover takes 30–60 minutes per profile type. For efficient multi-shape production, we recommend batching: run a minimum of 2,000–3,000 linear meters per shape before changeover to amortize setup time. The quick-change clamp system on the vacuum calibration table reduces mechanical alignment time by approximately 40% compared to traditional bolt-down calibrator mounting.

3. What Is the Theoretical Daily Output for Each Model?

Based on a solid profile cross-section of 12 mm × 80 mm (960 mm²) at PVC density 1.45 g/cm³ (1.392 kg/m), and an 8-hour shift:

Model Motor Power Typical Output Per-Hour Output Daily Output (8h)
SJS251 15 kW ~40 kg/h ~29 m/h ~230 m
SJS255 22 kW ~65 kg/h ~47 m/h ~375 m
SJS285 37 kW ~105 kg/h ~75 m/h ~600 m
SJS250 55 kW ~160 kg/h ~115 m/h ~920 m

Actual output varies with profile cross-section, foam/solid ratio, and marble surface process speed. Larger hollow profiles and foam-core structures increase linear meter output proportionally.

4. How Does PVC Artificial Marble Trim Compare to Natural Marble in Cost?

The cost advantage is substantial across three dimensions:

Cost Factor PVC Artificial Marble Natural Marble
Raw Material PVC compound: $0.8–1.2/kg Cut stone: $15–50/linear meter
Installation Method Adhesive or clip fixing — no wet trades Cement mortar — requires skilled masons
Installation Labor ~0.15–0.25 h/m ~0.5–1.0 h/m
Weight (per m, 80×12 mm) ~1.1 kg/m ~3.8 kg/m
Transport Cost Lightweight, high-density packing Heavy, fragile, high breakage loss

Total installed cost for PVC marble profiles is typically 30–50% lower than natural marble, with the added benefit of faster project completion and reduced structural load on partition walls.

5. How Is Marble Pattern Consistency Maintained Over Long Production Runs?

Three interlocking control systems ensure consistency throughout multi-shift production runs:

  • Film Tension Control: Closed-loop servo maintains heat transfer film tension at ±0.5 N, preventing pattern stretching or compression across the profile surface.

  • Temperature PID Accuracy: Multi-zone silicone roller heating with ±1°C PID control eliminates hot spots that cause uneven ink transfer or film scorching.

  • Film Registration: Automatic edge-guide alignment maintains lateral film position within ±0.5 mm, ensuring vein patterns align consistently along the profile length.

For high-volume export orders, we also offer an inline CCD vision inspection option that captures 30 frames/m and compares each frame against a golden-sample reference, automatically flagging deviations exceeding preset thresholds.
