Product Description
A friction washer is a high-speed mechanical cleaning machine widely used in plastic recycling systems to remove surface contaminants such as dirt, sand, paper labels, oil residues, and fine impurities from plastic flakes or films.
In modern recycling plants, it is a critical pre-cleaning or intermediate cleaning unit, especially in PET bottle recycling lines, HDPE/PP rigid plastic washing systems, and plastic film washing plants.
At Zhangjiagang Chenxing Machinery Co., Ltd., our friction washers are engineered with high rotational speed, optimized screw design, and durable stainless-steel construction to ensure stable long-term industrial operation.
The friction washer operates based on high-speed mechanical friction + water flushing technology:
Plastic flakes enter the horizontal barrel through the feeding system
A high-speed rotating shaft with paddles creates intense friction between materials
Contaminants such as sand, labels, and dust are separated from the plastic surface
Water spray system flushes impurities out through mesh screens
Cleaned material is discharged to the next washing or dewatering stage
This continuous friction and rinsing process ensures efficient cleaning while minimizing material loss.
Rotor speed up to 800–1200 RPM ensures strong friction force for deep cleaning of PET flakes and plastic films.
All contact parts are made of SUS304 stainless steel, resistant to corrosion and suitable for wet recycling environments.
Optimized spray system reduces water usage while maintaining high cleaning efficiency.
Can be easily integrated into complete plastic recycling lines including:
PET bottle washing lines
Plastic film washing lines
HDPE/PP rigid plastic recycling systems
Heavy-duty bearings and balanced rotor design ensure low vibration and long service life.
Capacity: 500–3000 kg/h
Rotor Speed: 800–1200 RPM
Material: SUS304 Stainless Steel
Power: 7.5–37 kW (depending on model)
Water System: Spray + drainage recycling system
Application: PET flakes, PE film, PP rigid plastics
(Custom configurations available based on project requirements.)
The friction washer is widely used in:
PET bottle recycling plants
Plastic film washing lines (LDPE/LLDPE)
Industrial plastic waste cleaning systems
Municipal solid waste plastic sorting lines
Post-consumer plastic recycling facilities
It plays a crucial role in improving the final purity of recycled plastic materials, directly affecting pellet quality and downstream extrusion performance.
