The Horizontal Cutterless HDPE Pipe Crusher is a horizontal pipe crusher that takes a whole HDPE, PP or PE pipe, up to 800 mm outside diameter, without pre-cutting, and reduces it into granulate for recycling. The published family reference machine runs at 185 kW with a two stage feed opening (500 x 500 mm upper, 650 x 650 mm lower), a 10 blade rotor and hydraulic box opening for fast blade access.
Cutterless means the pipe is not cut down before crushing. A traditional large pipe recycling job starts with a bandsaw, a chainsaw or an operator cutting a heavy pipe into short sections that a crusher can accept. This machine skips that step. The pipe goes straight into the feed opening, so the most expensive and most hazardous part of large pipe recycling is removed before it starts.
That single capability changes the cost picture of pipe recycling:
No pre-cutting labour. The step that costs hours per length and puts a person next to a rotating blade is gone.
No cutting machinery. No bandsaw, no chainsaw, no extra operator and no extra floor space.
No re-handling. The pipe is loaded once, on the infeed conveyor, and the machine does the rest.
Immediate size reduction. Long pipe lengths are broken down continuously instead of in batches.
The machine is built to order against the published 630 mm reference unit and extended to an 800 mm platform. When you scrap a large diameter pipe, it does not have to be sectioned by hand, loaded onto a saw or reduced on a bandsaw before recycling. It goes straight into the feed opening, which is where the machine is positioned: at the extrusion line, the installation site or the pipe storage yard.
Positioning in short:
Maximum pipe diameter: up to 800 mm for HDPE, PP and PE pipe, confirmed at enquiry
Machine type: horizontal arrangement with an integrated infeed conveyor
Family reference power: 185 kW main drive, as published for the 630 mm unit
Box opening: hydraulic, for fast blade access and cleaning
Reference feed openings: 650 x 650 mm lower and 500 x 500 mm upper, as published
The pipe side of the plant is covered under pipe extrusion line, and the planning route under pipe extrusion line solution. A wider range of pipe machines sits under other type pipe extrusion line solution.

The family reference machine is published at 630 mm with 185 kW and a 650 x 650 mm lower feed opening; the extended configuration accepts HDPE, PP and PE pipe up to 800 mm outside diameter, with the full specification confirmed at enquiry.
The 800 mm platform keeps the same horizontal cutterless arrangement and the same two stage feed concept. These items are confirmed on the order specification rather than printed as fixed numbers on this page:
Main drive power for the 800 mm configuration
Feed opening dimensions for the 800 mm configuration
Rotor and blade arrangement for the 800 mm configuration
Box plate thickness and frame size for the 800 mm configuration
Conveyor length and width for your pipe lengths
Overall dimensions and floor layout
The lower feed opening (650 x 650 mm) is the key number for pipe work. It sets how large a pipe can enter, and on the published reference it supports HDPE pipe up to 630 mm outside diameter. The extended platform is confirmed to 800 mm at enquiry.
The upper feed opening (500 x 500 mm) handles shorter offcuts, smaller pipe, purgings and profile scrap in the same machine, so the crusher is not limited to large pipe only.
Power (185 kW on the published reference) is sized for continuous size reduction of thick wall HDPE rather than short test runs, which is what makes cutterless whole pipe feeding practical.
The infeed conveyor (650 mm x 4 m) is matched to the feed opening width, so a long pipe is supported and guided along its whole approach instead of being forced in by hand.
Box plate thickness (30 mm) and the horizontal frame keep the cutting chamber rigid under large pipe loads.
Hydraulic box opening means blade inspection, rotation and replacement do not require manual dismantling of the chamber.
If you run a smaller line, the same crusher family covers other pipe sizes; the pipe extrusion side of the plant is described under hdpe pipe extrusion line solution, HDPE pipe production line 16-1600mm and 3 layer high speed PE PPR HDPE pipe extrusion line.
Materials and products. The crusher accepts HDPE, PP and PE pipe. On the published reference unit the working material family is HDPE pipe, and the extended configuration is confirmed for HDPE, PP and PE pipe up to 800 mm outside diameter. The machine also handles offcuts, purge blocks and profile scrap through the upper opening.
Applications. The machine is aimed at any operation that produces or collects large diameter pipe.
| Application | Typical material | Why this machine fits |
|---|---|---|
| HDPE pipe extrusion plants | Pipe start-up scrap, out-of-spec pipe, purge blocks | Whole pipe feeds in directly from the line side, no pre-cutting |
| Pipe installation and utility contractors | Offcut and rejected lengths of large diameter pipe | Compact main machine, conveyor-fed loading |
| Water supply and gas pipeline projects | Heavy wall HDPE service pipe | 185 kW reference drive handles thick wall without stalling |
| Municipal drainage and sewer projects | Large diameter drainage pipe | Lower 650 x 650 mm opening takes full pipe sections |
| Pipe stockyards and traders | Mixed stock, damaged pipe, end-of-life pipe | Upper 500 x 500 mm opening handles smaller pipe and offcuts too |
| Plastics recycling plants | HDPE pipe collected from multiple sites | Conveyor infeed for continuous, single-operator feeding |
Working conditions. The machine is installed at floor level as a complete set, main machine plus infeed conveyor and control cabinet. It needs a level, load-bearing concrete floor, a suitable three-phase power supply for the 185 kW reference main drive, and enough clear space in front of the conveyor to lay down a full pipe length before feeding. Because the machine is horizontal and cutterless, height clearance above the feed opening is much lower than on a vertical pipe crusher, which simplifies installation inside an existing pipe shop.
Who this machine suits
HDPE pipe extrusion plants that want start-up scrap and reject pipe back into the process instead of paying to move it.
Installation contractors that collect offcuts and rejected lengths on site.
Municipal and utility projects that generate heavy wall pipe waste.
Pipe stockyards and traders holding mixed and end-of-life stock.
Recycling plants that collect large pipe from multiple sites.
Downstream handling after crushing is covered under crushing material suction machine, powder suction machine, washing line machines and plastic pelletizing line.
This is a built to order machine. Customization is about fitting the platform to the pipe and the plant rather than redesigning the machine.
What we will change
Conveyor length and width. The standard reference conveyor is 650 mm x 4 m; longer or shorter conveyors are discussed together with your pipe lengths.
Voltage and frequency. The electrical control cabinet is built for your plant supply.
Feeding arrangement. The position of the conveyor relative to the chamber can be adapted to your floor layout.
Blade configuration. Blade material and edge geometry are selected for the pipe wall thickness you process.
Discharge arrangement. Discharge height and direction are adapted to your downstream conveying.
Complete recycling line integration. The crusher can be supplied as part of a plant that includes washing, drying and pelletizing.
What is fixed by the platform
The published reference machine carries 630 mm as its top published pipe size. A larger pipe moves to the extended 800 mm configuration, and the 800 mm figures are confirmed at enquiry rather than printed as estimates.
The reference feed opening dimensions, 500 x 500 mm upper and 650 x 650 mm lower, as published for the 630 mm unit.
The reference 10 blade rotor and 30 mm box plate construction, the published structural specification of the 630 mm unit.
The reference main drive power of 185 kW, sized to the published cutting chamber.
The reference overall dimensions of 3900 x 1800 x 2500 mm, fixed by the published frame.
We do not invent figures for the 800 mm layer. Any number that is not published for the reference unit or confirmed for your configuration is confirmed at enquiry and written into the quotation.
Equipment that pairs with the crusher includes washing and recycling production line, PE PP film recycling washing line, PET bottle crushing washing line, two stage recycling machine, plastic agglomerator and SMF series grinding machine.
Quality control on a machine of this size is about structure and repeatability, not only appearance.
Frame and chamber. The horizontal chamber is built from 30 mm box plates, a heavy fabricated structure rather than a folded sheet housing, so the cutting chamber holds its geometry under continuous large pipe loads.
Rotor assembly. The reference rotor carries 10 blades and runs as a complete assembly on the test run before dispatch, so the machine is checked for smooth running at the installed drive power.
Hydraulic system. The box opening cylinder and its 3 kW hydraulic cylinder motor are function-tested through full open-and-close cycles before dispatch.
Conveyor and control. The 650 mm x 4 m conveyor and the electrical control cabinet are wired and run as a set, so commissioning on site is a matter of connection and check rather than assembly.
Pre-delivery inspection. Incoming steel plate and components are inspected, the fabrication process is patrolled, and the complete machine is re-inspected before delivery.
Warranty and documentation. The machine is supplied with a 1-year warranty and with the machine manual, wiring diagram and hydraulic diagram.
Manufacturing follows ISO 9001 quality management, and machines are supplied with CE marking for export markets. Chenxing Machinery was established in 2002, has worked in plastic machinery for over 20 years and has been exporting for 16 years, based in China.
Chenxing also builds the upstream and downstream equipment that surrounds a crusher, so the whole line can be specified by one supplier: see auxiliary machines, mixing unit, automatic compounding system, automatic compounding system solution, continuous powder suction machine and the advanced material processing EPC project service.
MOQ. One set. Each crusher is built to order against the confirmed specification, so a single set is the normal starting quantity; multi-set orders for a group of plants are quoted together.
Scope of supply per set. Main machine, infeed conveyor (650 mm x 4 m, 4 kW) and electrical control cabinet (1 unit), plus blades as specified.
Payment terms. T/T, L/C and Western Union.
Incoterms. FOB, EXW, CFR, CIF and CIP.
Lead time. Confirmed at order, since the machine is built to specification; ordering earlier in the year avoids peak season pressure.
Packing. Export packing suitable for sea transport, with the main machine secured on a reinforced base, and the conveyor and cabinet packed separately.
Shipping. The whole set is shipped as one consignment; the loading plan and container or flat-rack arrangement are confirmed before dispatch.
Installation and training. Our engineers guide installation and train your operators on feeding technique, blade rotation and hydraulic box operation.
Technical documents and machine files are collected under download; machine news and application articles are posted on news. Company background on about us and the home page.
Up to 800 mm outside diameter for the extended configuration, confirmed at enquiry. The published family reference machine is the 630 mm unit, and a larger pipe moves to the 800 mm platform rather than a modification of the smaller machine.
It means the pipe is not cut down before crushing. The pipe feeds into the machine whole, driven by the infeed conveyor, and the only cutting that happens is inside the machine.
Yes. The extended configuration accepts HDPE, PP and PE pipe up to 800 mm outside diameter, and the material and wall thickness are confirmed on the order specification.
Through the integrated infeed conveyor. A full-length pipe is laid on the conveyor and driven into the chamber, so the operator does not push or lift the pipe against the feed opening.
As published for the reference unit: 500 x 500 mm upper and 650 x 650 mm lower. The lower opening is the one that accepts large diameter pipe; the upper opening takes smaller pipe, offcuts and general plant scrap.
The published reference machine uses a 185 kW main drive, a separate 3 kW motor for the hydraulic cylinder and a 4 kW motor for the infeed conveyor. Power for the 800 mm configuration is confirmed on the order specification.
No. The chamber opens hydraulically, which means blade inspection, rotation and replacement are done without manually dismantling the cutting chamber.
Yes. Before the order is finalised, our engineering team verifies the capability against your pipe diameter and wall thickness. Send the pipe specification with your inquiry and the confirmation is included with the quotation.
MOQ is one set, built to your confirmed specification. The machine carries a 1-year warranty, and delivery includes the machine manual, wiring diagram and hydraulic diagram.
The published reference main machine is 3900 x 1800 x 2500 mm. In addition, you need clear space in front of the conveyor to lay down a full pipe length, and access space around the chamber for hydraulic box opening during maintenance. Because the machine is horizontal, headroom above the feed opening is lower than on a vertical crusher.
Because this machine is built to order, a complete inquiry is what allows an accurate quotation on the first reply. Please include:
Pipe material and diameter range. HDPE, PP or PE, and the largest outside diameter you need to process, whether 800 mm or below.
Pipe wall thickness. The thickest wall you will feed, since this drives blade geometry.
Pipe length. The typical and maximum length, which determines the conveyor arrangement.
Required output. The throughput target for your plant planning; this is confirmed as a project value, not a fixed figure of the standard machine.
Plant information. Available floor area, height clearance in front of the machine, and power supply (voltage, frequency, phase).
Downstream requirement. Whether you need washing, drying, conveying or pelletizing after the crusher, so the whole line can be quoted together.
Commercial expectations. Preferred Incoterm, destination port and required documents.
Site and certification requirements. Whether CE marking or other documentation is required for your market.
What you get back: a written quotation stating the complete configuration for the cutterless crusher, main machine, infeed conveyor, hydraulic box opening, blades and electrical control cabinet, together with the packing plan, delivery schedule and Incoterm. The engineering team confirms that your pipe feeds directly without pre-cutting before the order is finalised, so the capability is verified against your pipe, not assumed.
