The High Efficiency Heavy Duty Pipe Granulator is a horizontal cutterless pipe crusher built for continuous size reduction of HDPE, PP and PE pipe up to 800 mm outside diameter, feeding whole pipe without pre-cutting and running as a single operator station. The published 630 mm family reference machine uses a 185 kW main drive, a 10 blade rotor in a 30 mm box plate chamber and a 650 mm x 4 m infeed conveyor with a 4 kW motor, and the extended configuration is confirmed up to 800 mm outside diameter at enquiry.
Efficiency on a large pipe granulator comes from the parts you do not have to do. No pre-cutting, so no bandsaw labour and no operator standing over a saw. No re-handling, because the pipe is laid on the conveyor once and the machine does the rest. No batch waiting, because long pipe lengths are broken down continuously instead of in sections. The published reference drive of 185 kW is sized for continuous thick wall HDPE work, which is what keeps the machine running when the plant runs around the clock.
Heavy duty construction is the second half of the story. The chamber is a horizontal welded structure with 30 mm box plates, the reference rotor carries 10 blades, and the box opens hydraulically so blade inspection, rotation and replacement are short jobs. A machine that is quick to maintain is a machine that stays efficient.

The family reference machine is published at 630 mm with 185 kW and a 650 x 650 mm lower feed opening; the extended configuration accepts HDPE, PP and PE pipe up to 800 mm outside diameter, with the full specification confirmed at enquiry.
For the 800 mm layer we confirm these items on the order specification rather than printing estimates:
Feed opening dimensions for the 800 mm configuration
Main drive power for the 800 mm configuration
Rotor, blade count and blade geometry for the 800 mm configuration
Box plate thickness and overall dimensions
Conveyor size for your pipe lengths and site layout
The lower feed opening (650 x 650 mm) is the key number for pipe work. On the published reference it supports HDPE pipe up to 630 mm outside diameter; the extended platform is confirmed to 800 mm at enquiry.
The upper feed opening (500 x 500 mm) handles shorter offcuts, smaller pipe, purgings and profile scrap in the same machine.
Power (185 kW on the published reference) is sized for continuous size reduction of thick wall HDPE rather than short test runs, which is the definition of a heavy duty machine.
The infeed conveyor (650 mm x 4 m) is matched to the feed opening width, so a long pipe is supported and guided along its whole approach.
Box plate thickness (30 mm) and the horizontal frame keep the cutting chamber rigid under large pipe loads.
Hydraulic box opening means blade inspection, rotation and replacement do not require manual dismantling of the chamber, which keeps downtime short.
Related lines in the same family: pipe extrusion line solution, 3 layer high speed PE PPR HDPE pipe extrusion line and other type pipe extrusion line solution.
Materials and products. The extended configuration processes HDPE, PP and PE pipe up to 800 mm outside diameter. The published reference machine is set up for HDPE pipe, and the same machine family covers the two stage feed arrangement for the whole pipe waste stream, from full length large pipe down to offcuts and purge blocks.
Applications. The machine is aimed at any operation that produces or collects large diameter pipe.
| Application | Typical material | Why this machine fits |
|---|---|---|
| HDPE pipe extrusion plants | Pipe start-up scrap, out-of-spec pipe, purge blocks | Whole pipe feeds in directly from the line side, no pre-cutting |
| Pipe installation and utility contractors | Offcut and rejected lengths of large diameter pipe | Compact main machine, conveyor-fed loading |
| Water supply and gas pipeline projects | Heavy wall HDPE service pipe | 185 kW reference drive handles thick wall without stalling |
| Municipal drainage and sewer projects | Large diameter drainage pipe | Lower 650 x 650 mm opening takes full pipe sections |
| Pipe stockyards and traders | Mixed stock, damaged pipe, end-of-life pipe | Upper 500 x 500 mm opening handles smaller pipe and offcuts too |
| Plastics recycling plants | HDPE pipe collected from multiple sites | Conveyor infeed for continuous, single-operator feeding |
Working conditions. The machine is installed at floor level as a complete set, main machine plus infeed conveyor and control cabinet. It needs a level, load-bearing concrete floor, a suitable three-phase power supply for the 185 kW reference main drive, and enough clear space in front of the conveyor to lay down a full pipe length before feeding. The horizontal layout keeps height clearance low, which helps when the granulator is added to an existing plant.
Who this machine suits
Pipe extrusion plants that run around the clock and want continuous scrap reduction without an extra cutting crew.
Recycling plants that process large pipe from multiple sites and want a single operator feeding station.
Contractors and utilities that want heavy wall pipe waste reduced on site.
Plants that plan a full recycling line and want the crusher sized and quoted with the downstream equipment.
Where the plant also makes pipe, the extrusion technology appears on extruder, plastic drainage pipe machine and double wall corrugated pipe extrusion line.
This is a built to order machine. Customization is about fitting the platform to the pipe and the plant rather than redesigning the machine.
What we will change
Conveyor length and width. The standard reference conveyor is 650 mm x 4 m; longer or shorter conveyors are discussed together with your pipe lengths.
Voltage and frequency. The electrical control cabinet is built for your plant supply.
Feeding arrangement. The position of the conveyor relative to the chamber can be adapted to your floor layout.
Blade configuration. Blade material and edge geometry are selected for the pipe wall thickness you process.
Discharge arrangement. Discharge height and direction are adapted to your downstream conveying.
Complete recycling line integration. The crusher can be supplied as part of a plant that includes washing, drying and pelletizing.
What is fixed by the platform
The published reference machine carries 630 mm as its top published pipe size. Larger pipe moves to the extended 800 mm configuration, and the 800 mm figures are confirmed at enquiry rather than printed as estimates.
The reference feed opening dimensions, 500 x 500 mm upper and 650 x 650 mm lower, as published for the 630 mm unit.
The reference 10 blade rotor and 30 mm box plate construction, the published structural specification of the 630 mm unit.
The reference main drive power of 185 kW, sized to the published cutting chamber.
The reference overall dimensions of 3900 x 1800 x 2500 mm, fixed by the published frame.
No figure is invented for the 800 mm layer. Numbers that are not published for the reference unit are confirmed at enquiry and written into the quotation.
Downstream equipment that pairs with the granulator includes washing line machines, washing and recycling production line, plastic pelletizing line, PE PP film recycling washing line, PET bottle crushing washing line and two stage recycling machine.
Quality control on a machine of this size is about structure and repeatability, not only appearance.
Frame and chamber. The horizontal chamber is built from 30 mm box plates, a heavy fabricated structure rather than a folded sheet housing, so the cutting chamber holds its geometry under continuous large pipe loads.
Rotor assembly. The reference rotor carries 10 blades and runs as a complete assembly on the test run before dispatch, so the machine is checked for smooth running at the installed drive power.
Hydraulic system. The box opening cylinder and its 3 kW hydraulic cylinder motor are function-tested through full open-and-close cycles before dispatch.
Conveyor and control. The 650 mm x 4 m conveyor and the electrical control cabinet are wired and run as a set, so commissioning on site is a matter of connection and check rather than assembly.
Pre-delivery inspection. Incoming steel plate and components are inspected, the fabrication process is patrolled, and the complete machine is re-inspected before delivery.
Warranty and documentation. The machine is supplied with a 1-year warranty and with the machine manual, wiring diagram and hydraulic diagram.
Manufacturing follows ISO 9001 quality management, and machines are supplied with CE marking for export markets. Chenxing Machinery was established in 2002, has worked in plastic machinery for over 20 years and has been exporting for 16 years, based in China.
Chenxing also builds the equipment that surrounds the granulator, so the whole line can be specified by one supplier: see auxiliary machines, mixing unit, automatic compounding system, automatic compounding system solution, crushing material suction machine and continuous powder suction machine.
MOQ. One set. Each crusher is built to order against the confirmed specification, so a single set is the normal starting quantity; multi-set orders for a group of plants are quoted together.
Scope of supply per set. Main machine, infeed conveyor (650 mm x 4 m, 4 kW) and electrical control cabinet (1 unit), plus blades as specified.
Payment terms. T/T, L/C and Western Union.
Incoterms. FOB, EXW, CFR, CIF and CIP.
Lead time. Confirmed at order, since the machine is built to specification; ordering earlier in the year avoids peak season pressure.
Packing. Export packing suitable for sea transport, with the main machine secured on a reinforced base, and the conveyor and cabinet packed separately.
Shipping. The whole set is shipped as one consignment; the loading plan and container or flat-rack arrangement are confirmed before dispatch.
Installation and training. Our engineers guide installation and train your operators on feeding technique, blade rotation and hydraulic box operation.
Technical documents and machine files are collected under download; machine news and application articles are posted on news. Application cases are collected under application cases. Company background on about us and the home page.
The published reference unit uses a 185 kW main drive, a 10 blade rotor and a chamber built from 30 mm box plates, so it is sized for continuous thick wall HDPE work rather than short test runs. Hydraulic box opening keeps blade maintenance quick when the machine runs around the clock.
Whole pipe infeed removes the pre-cutting bottleneck, and the drive and rotor are sized so thick wall pipe is broken down continuously without load spikes stalling the machine. The operator feeds, the machine reduces, and the cycle does not stop.
Yes. The integrated infeed conveyor carries the pipe into the chamber, so one operator lays pipe on the belt and manages the control cabinet. That is the normal running arrangement on the published reference set.
The cabinet gathers the main drive, the hydraulic unit and the conveyor onto one panel, so the plant needs one power feed point and one operating position for the whole crusher set.
The chamber opens hydraulically, so there is no manual unbolting or lifting of heavy covers. Blade inspection, rotation and replacement become a routine short job, which matters when the crusher runs continuously.
The published reference main drive is 185 kW three phase. The electrical control cabinet is built for your voltage, frequency and phase, so the supply is confirmed on the order specification.
Yes. The crusher can be quoted with washing, drying, conveying or pelletizing as one line. See the plastic recycling line solution, washing and recycling production line and plastic pelletizing line pages for the full arrangement.
In export packing suitable for sea transport. The main machine is secured on a reinforced base, and the conveyor and control cabinet are packed separately, with the loading plan and container or flat-rack arrangement confirmed before dispatch.
Throughput is confirmed as a project value at enquiry. It depends on your pipe diameter, wall thickness and length, and it is quoted against your plant planning rather than printed as a fixed figure.
Send your pipe specification and destination port, and you get a written quotation within 24 hours. The engineering team confirms the 800 mm configuration against your pipe before the order is finalised.
