The HDPE Marine Pedal Board / Ocean Fishing Raft Extrusion Line is a complete turnkey production line that turns HDPE compound into the structural components of modern marine aquaculture: non-slip marine pedal boards, marine walkway boards and HDPE ocean fishing raft pipe sections.
It is not a single machine and it is not a general-purpose pipe line. Two extruders feed one co-extrusion die, the profile is sized in a vacuum shaping tank, cooled through a spray tank, embossed for grip, then hauled off and cut to length automatically. The output is a large, thick, weather-exposed marine component — which is exactly why the sizing and cooling stages are built the way they are.
The problem it solves is the one that older fish-raft construction has never solved properly: traditional rafts are built from wood and foam buoys, structures that are heavy to maintain, unstable in open water, weak against wind and waves, and effectively limited to sheltered nearshore bays. HDPE changes the material, and this line changes the availability of that material. Extruded HDPE pedal boards and raft sections are corrosion-resistant in seawater, hold their mechanical properties, resist wind and wave loads, and let an aquaculture operation move into deeper, better-flushed water — which in turn reduces the surface area occupied and helps water quality, lowering disease pressure in the stock.
In short, the line exists so that a fish farm, a raft builder or a marine facility supplier can produce its own HDPE pedals and raft components rather than buying and maintaining timber.

Reading the two tables together. Table A describes the extruder set and the forming section as configured for marine pedal and raft production. Table B carries the general machine attributes of the line, which is why the power figure (350 kW total against 110 kW + 37 kW of extruder drive) and the output figure (1000 kg/h peak against 450 kg/h melting output) are stated differently: they describe different scopes of the same equipment, not two different machines. Both are shown as given, and the final figure applied to your order is confirmed in the quotation.
How to choose:
By product width — pick the mould from the 150 210 350 410 500 mm options according to the pedal board or raft section you sell
By raft pipe size — for HDPE ocean fishing raft pipe and marine tractor components, the line covers the 300–500 mm range
By extruder combination — SJ90/33 with SJ65/30 is the standard pairing for the two-material co-extrusion structure
By supply voltage — the electrical design is built for 380 V 220 V 440 V; confirm your plant supply at inquiry
Related squeezing, compounding and downstream equipment is listed on the Extruder, Auxiliary Machines and Mixing Unit pages.
Two extruders, SJ90/33 and SJ65/30, feed a single co-extrusion die. The die is arranged so that the top layer is virgin HDPE and the bottom layer is recycled material. This is a deliberate cost-and-performance structure: the surface that the user walks on, and that faces sun, salt and abrasion, is virgin material; the structural body can use recycled HDPE.
Screw material is 38CrMoAlA, a nitriding-grade alloy chosen for wear life in continuous production. Drive power for the extruder set is 110 kW + 37 kW, with a melting output of 450 kg/h. The main motor is a Siemens brand unit and the frequency inverter is ABB.
The forming section is a two-part tooling set: the extrusion die head, and a 6 m long shaping mould made of mould steel. The mould length is what allows a large, thick marine profile to be brought into dimension gradually rather than being squeezed into shape over a short distance.
After the die, the profile enters a 9 m stainless steel vacuum shaping tank. Compared with a traditional vacuum shaping platform, a vacuum shaping box gives better sealing and better shaping control, and the result is a profile with stable dimensions along the full length of the board.
A 9 m stainless steel cooling spray tank follows the sizing stage. Marine pedal boards and raft sections are large and thick, so cooling them through is the step that limits line speed if it is done poorly. Two full cooling stages — vacuum tank plus spray tank — give the profile the cooling length it needs, which is what raises production speed while keeping the product dimensionally stable.
The pedal board then passes through an embossing (knurling) unit that forms a non-slip surface on the walking face. This is a functional requirement, not a cosmetic one: a wet marine pedal is a slip hazard, and the embossed pattern is what makes the board safe to walk on.
Finally the profile runs through the haul-off machine, which pulls the line at a controlled rate and holds the section straight, and then through an automatic cutter that cuts the board or raft section to your required length without manual measurement.
| Application | Typical product | Why HDPE extrusion fits |
|---|---|---|
| Marine aquaculture (fish, shellfish, shrimp) | Raft pipe, cage walkway and pedal board | Seawater corrosion resistance and mechanical strength under wave loading |
| Abalone, large yellow croaker and grouper farming | Aquaculture platforms and access boards | Platform stability in deeper, better-flushed water |
| Ocean fishing raft builders | HDPE raft sections and connectors | Replaces wood and foam buoy construction |
| Docks, floating bridges and platforms | Marine pedal and walkway boards | Non-slip embossed surface, low water absorption |
| Marine tractor / net tractor equipment | HDPE marine tractor components | Ductile, impact-resistant, buoyant structure |
| Coastal and offshore facility contractors | Custom profile boards | Widths selectable from 150 mm to 500 mm |
Why the HDPE route beats traditional raft construction. Wood and foam buoys are the traditional answer for net-cage aquaculture platforms, and they carry known weaknesses: poor structural stability, weak resistance to wind and waves, complex construction, and suitability limited to low-wave nearshore bays. An HDPE raft structure is corrosion-resistant in seawater, holds good mechanical properties, resists wind and wave load, and can be deployed further offshore. That lets the farm use deeper water, reduce the surface area occupied, improve water quality and lower fish disease rates.
Working conditions: the line is installed as a complete set — extruders, die head, 6 m shaping mould, 9 m vacuum tank, 9 m spray tank, embosser, haul-off and cutter — on a level, load-bearing industrial floor with a run-out length suitable for the board length you cut. Power supply is confirmed against the 380 V 220 V 440 V design, and water supply and drainage are needed for the vacuum and spray tanks. Because the profile is large and thick, layout planning should give the cooling section its full 9 m plus 9 m without obstruction.

HDPE marine pedal board (non-slip walkway board) and HDPE ocean fishing raft components — raft pipe sections and marine tractor parts. The formed profile is a large, thick HDPE section with an embossed non-slip surface on the walking face.
Two extruders — SJ90/33 and SJ65/30 — feed one co-extrusion die. The top layer uses virgin HDPE and the bottom layer uses recycled material, so the wearing, sun-exposed surface is virgin material while the structural body can be lower-cost recycled HDPE. The extruder set is rated 110 kW + 37 kW with a 450 kg/h melting output.
Because the product is large and thick. A 9 m stainless steel vacuum shaping tank sets the dimensions, and a 9 m stainless steel spray cooling tank cools the profile through. Vacuum shaping boxes seal and shape better than a traditional vacuum shaping platform, and the two-stage cooling is what allows higher line speed with stable dimensions.
150 mm, 210 mm, 350 mm, 410 mm and 500 mm shaping mould options, selectable to suit the pedal board or raft section you produce. The mould is made of mould steel and consists of two parts: the extrusion die head and a 6 m long shaping mould.
By an embossing / knurling unit positioned after the cooling section. It forms the grip pattern directly on the board face, which is essential for a wet marine walking surface.
