A dust collector is a filter unit that pulls air, dust and moisture away from a mixing machine and returns clean air to the plant. It mounts on top of the mixer, the air inlet connects to the mixer exhaust port through a steel wire hose, and a filter cartridge holds back the fines while compressed air pulses at 0.4 to 0.5 MPa clean the element. Typical handling air volume runs from about 500 to 3,000 m3/h depending on mixer size, confirmed at enquiry, and the unit keeps the operator out of the dust cloud.
Chenxing Machinery builds the dust collector for the exhaust step of a PVC compounding line. The mixer generates heat, steam and airborne fines every batch, and the collector takes that stream away before it settles on the floor, the control panel or the operator. It sits above the machine, so the dirty air path is short and the cleaned air is released high in the room. The same logic serves a hot mixer station and a full PVC compounding plant, and the collector is matched to the batch size.
The unit is built around the jobs an operator sees every shift:
A top-mounted housing keeps the collector above the mixer so the steel wire hose runs short and straight to the exhaust port.
A steel wire hose with hose clamp fit carries the air and dust mixture without collapsing under suction.
A filter cartridge with deep pleats catches fines before they reach the clean air side.
A pulse valve manifold fires compressed air at 0.4 to 0.5 MPa to release the dust cake from the cartridge.
A moisture handling path drains condensation from the mixer exhaust so water does not saturate the filter.
A control panel with PLC interlock starts the cleaning cycle inside the mixer dwell window.
The clamp fit on the steel wire hose matters in daily use. A loose joint sucks ambient air instead of mixer exhaust, the filter sees less load, and dust escapes at the seam. Chenxing welds the hose connection spigot and checks the clamp torque at run-out, so the joint stays sealed shift after shift.
The dust collector works in a fixed sequence. Mixer exhaust containing air, dust and moisture enters through the steel wire hose, the filter cartridge catches the fines, compressed air pulse at 0.4 to 0.5 MPa cleans the element while mixing continues, the captured fines drop back into the mixer, and the cleaned air leaves the housing.
The pulse interval is set so the dust cake releases cleanly. If the pulse fires too often, the compressed air is wasted and the cartridge wears early; if it fires too late, the pressure drop rises and the filter bypasses. The plant sets the interval on the control panel after watching the pressure gauge reading during the first batches.
The table below lists typical industry reference values. None of them are fixed Chenxing model data, and every figure is confirmed at enquiry before an order.

| Handling air volume | about 500 to 3,000 m3/h depending on mixer size |
| Filter element | cartridge, about 5 to 30 m2 filtration area |
| Filtration efficiency | about 99% for sub-micron dust in typical compounding service |
| Cleaning | automatic pulse reverse cleaning, timed or differential-pressure triggered |
| Moisture handling | forced moisture absorption of mixer exhaust, condensate drain |

| Power supply | 380V 50Hz 3 phase, other voltages on request |
All values above are typical industry reference figures, confirmed at enquiry. The actual air volume, cartridge area and pulse interval are matched to the mixer volume and the dust load of each plant, so the collector is quoted after the batch size is known.
Sizing starts with the mixer volume and the exhaust air volume. A large hot and cold mixer moves more air per batch than a small laboratory unit, so the handling volume sets the housing width and the cartridge area. The dust load decides how much filter surface is needed: heavy filler dosing packs the cartridge faster and calls for a bigger element or a shorter pulse interval.
The moisture content is the second input. A mixer running hot resin releases steam, and the condensate drain must be sized so water runs out instead of soaking the filter. Cartridge pleat depth is chosen against the dust type, and the pulse manifold valve count is set so the full cartridge area is cleaned in each cycle. The collector is quoted after the mixer cycle, dust type and moisture level are confirmed.
The dust collector shows up wherever powder is mixed, dosed or conveyed. In a PVC compounding plant it tops the hot and cold mixer station and cleans the exhaust of the automated compounding solution. In a powder dosing room it sits above the weigh station and keeps additive dust out of the operator's breathing zone.
| Application area | What the dust collector does |
|---|---|
| PVC and plastic compounding plants | Cleans mixer exhaust and returns captured fines to the batch |
| Hot and cold mixer stations | Removes steam and dust from the mixer cycle |
| Powder dosing rooms | Captures additive and filler dust at the weigh station |
| Extrusion line material handling areas | Pulls dust from transfer points before it spreads |
| Recycling compounding | Handles dusty regrind and additive mixing exhaust |
The collector also runs beside the mixing line auxiliary machines that feed the mixer, and the same plant often combines it with powder suction equipment and a vacuum feeding unit to close the whole material loop. Downstream, the cleaned mixer feeds extrusion machinery on a sheet line machinery, a profile line machinery or PVC pipe production machinery.
Customization is available where it changes the collector's fit to a line. The fixed part is the engineering principle: mixer exhaust passes through a filter cartridge and pulse cleaning keeps the element open.
| Customizable | Fixed |
|---|---|
| Handling air volume, housing width and cartridge area | Filter cartridge is the core separation element |
| Pulse interval, differential pressure trigger and PLC sequence | Automatic pulse cleaning at 0.4 to 0.5 MPa |
| Hose route, clamp type and exhaust duct direction | Top-mounted position above the mixing machine |
| Housing material: painted carbon steel or SS304 | Moisture drain and forced moisture absorption stay in the design |
| Voltage, frequency and phase | The collector cleans, it does not mix or convey |
A plant with a very wet mixer cycle gets a bigger condensate drain and a faster drain interval. A plant running fine pigments gets a deeper pleat cartridge and a lower pulse trigger point. What does not change is the closed path from the mixer exhaust port to the collector inlet, because that is what keeps dust and steam off the shop floor.
Chenxing Machinery has run ISO9001 quality management since 2002 and CE certification applies to the machine series. The factory has been building plastic machinery for more than 20 years, and the dust collector is welded, sealed and inspected under the same routine as the rest of the pelletizing production and full line solutions range. The industry applications page shows where these units run in real lines.
Each collector goes through a documented run-out check before shipment. The inspection list covers the housing welds, the cartridge sealing face, the pulse manifold valve count and function, the hose clamp fit, the moisture drain route and the control panel sequence. The unit is test run with compressed air so the operator sees the pulse cleaning cycle and the pressure gauge reading before the machine leaves the shop.
The package includes the inspection report and the certificate of conformity, plus a 1 year warranty on the machine. Larger compounding layouts can be arranged through the EPC compounding projects program, and details about the factory background are available on the site.
The minimum order is 1 set, and the lead time is confirmed on the order because it depends on the housing size, cartridge area and material grade. Export packing uses wooden cases or steel frames, with the housing, cartridge and control panel separated and braced so the pleats and the pulse valves are not damaged in transit. Data sheet downloads are packed with each unit, and commissioning notes cover the pulse interval setting.
Trade terms cover FOB, EXW, CFR, CIF and CIP, and payment is by T/T or L/C. The destination port is needed at quotation stage so the freight and packing plan can be sized correctly.
A dust collector is a filter unit that pulls air, dust and moisture away from a mixing machine and returns clean air to the plant. It mounts on top of the mixer and connects to the exhaust port through a steel wire hose.
Compressed air at 0.4 to 0.5 MPa fires through a pulse valve manifold into the cartridge, releasing the dust cake. The cleaning runs automatically on a timer or on differential pressure while the mixer keeps working.
Typical industry reference is about 500 to 3,000 m3/h depending on mixer size, confirmed at enquiry. The exact figure depends on the mixer volume, dust load and moisture content of the batch.
In typical compounding service the cartridge reaches about 99% filtration efficiency for sub-micron dust, confirmed at enquiry. The pleat depth and cartridge area are matched to the dust type of each plant.
They drop back into the mixer when the pulse releases the dust cake. The operator does not handle the fines manually, and the batch keeps the material that would otherwise be lost.
The collector uses forced moisture absorption of the mixer exhaust, and a condensate drain routes the water out of the housing. The drain interval is set so steam does not saturate the cartridge.
The MOQ is 1 set. Lead time is confirmed on the order because housing size, cartridge area and material grade change the build. FOB, EXW, CFR, CIF or CIP terms can be arranged.
