A 30 kg small-batch powder bonding machine is the metallic powder bonder that fixes aluminum flakes onto powder coating resin particles for short production orders instead of lab trials. Chenxing builds this unit for powder coating plants that take customer orders of 20-60 kg bonded metallic powder: the 80 L hot mixing chamber carries 25-35 kg per batch and turns out about 60-80 kg/h, so a plant can fill a small order on the same day and send it to the coating line.
The machine heats through circulating hot water plus friction from the stirring blades. Temperature stays just below the resin softening point, so the metal flakes stick to the powder surface while the resin keeps flowing freely. A typical order of 30 kg loads, bonds, discharges and packs in one pass, and the PLC recalls a saved recipe instead of asking the operator to re-tune every shade.
What is built into the machine:
An 80 L hot mixing chamber with a water jacket. The jacket loop holds the temperature window around the bonding point, and blade friction adds heat from the powder side at a controlled rate.
A 15 kW motor on a frequency inverter drive. The inverter keeps blade tip speed steady whether the batch is 25 kg or 35 kg, so the bonding result does not drift between loads.
PLC control with up to 400 stored recipe sets. An operator recalls a saved curve, enters the batch weight and presses one-key start.
A PT100 probe in the material path. The PLC reads live temperature and trims water flow and blade speed against the set point before overshoot builds.
Nitrogen protection as standard. A nitrogen blanket purges the chamber before the cycle so oxidation-sensitive metallic pigments keep their sparkle.
Automatic bonding detection as standard. The controller senses the bonding state and tells the operator when the batch is ready, instead of relying on a timer guess.
Software remote maintenance as standard. The Chenxing service team can log in, read the PLC trend and adjust parameters without a site visit.
The bonder is a standalone unit, so it does not need a separate premix stage. In a plant that also runs dry blend compounding, it works beside the high speed mixer unit and automatic compounding equipment, while the compounding line package page covers larger recipes; the 30 kg machine itself loads, heats, bonds and discharges in one pass. Base powder and metallic pigment can be tipped in directly or moved with powder suction equipment and a continuous powder loading system when the plant stores bags on a rack.
The working sequence is fixed and repeatable. Metallic pigment and powder coating base go into the 80 L hot mixing chamber. Water circulation and friction raise the temperature to just below the resin softening point. The metal flakes stick to the resin particles while the powder keeps flowing freely, and the batch is discharged for spraying or packing. Temperature is held in a safe window the whole time; if the charge drifts too high, the PLC cuts water heating and lowers blade speed before the resin softens into lumps. When the recipe calls for nitrogen protection, the chamber is purged with nitrogen before the blades start, and the blanket stays on until the discharge chute opens.

Loading a small order is straightforward. Weigh 25 kg to 35 kg of powder coating base and the matching metallic pigment loading, tip both into the chamber and close the lid. Recall a stored recipe from the PLC screen or enter a fresh temperature curve. Press one-key start; the inverter ramps the blades, the water jacket brings the chamber up, and the PT100 feeds temperature back while the batch runs. If the pigment is oxidation-sensitive, the nitrogen blanket purges the chamber first. Watch the bonding detection signal on the controller. When the controller confirms the batch is bonded, open the bottom chute and collect the bonded powder into a clean container for spraying or packing.
Between colors, run a short purging powder charge to lift residual pigment off the blades, then wipe the chamber wall, blade edges and discharge chute. The color change takes minutes on a machine this size, which is why powder coating plants pick the 30 kg unit over a full-size bonder for short runs. Typical layouts for such plants are collected on the application examples page.
Small metallic powder coating producers use it first. Powder coating plants keep one beside the main production bonder to fill short-run orders and match colors without stopping the big line. Paint-to-powder conversion projects use it to validate metallic recipes against liquid paint samples and then deliver the first production batches. Architectural profile finishers, furniture coaters, home appliance lines and automotive coating suppliers all run small metallic batches through the same steps, so the machine sits naturally beside the profile extrusion systems, profile extrusion package, sheet extrusion systems, marble sheet machinery, pipe production solutions, PVC pipe solutions and HDPE solutions plants that Chenxing equips.
The unit also pairs with the rest of the powder handling floor. The auxiliary machinery range, extrusion machines, pelletizing machinery and recycling solutions cover the compounding and reprocessing side of the same workshop.
Some options are confirmed at enquiry rather than assumed. The standard 30 kg unit carries an 80 L chamber, 380V 50Hz 3 phase supply and RAL9010 white with RAL5013 blue panels. If a plant runs a different voltage or needs a larger chamber, tell us at enquiry and we quote the change. Cold mixing can be added when the recipe needs a separate cooling stage. Other RAL colors are available for line consistency. These boundaries keep the base price predictable while leaving the door open for factory solutions, EPC material projects and other pipe production solutions for plants that run multiple lines.
The machine is built the same way as the rest of the Chenxing workshop output. The chamber is welded from stainless plate and the water jacket is pressure tested before assembly. The PT100 probe is calibrated against a reference thermometer. The inverter and PLC are wired on a marked panel, and every unit runs a trial batch with aluminum flake pigment before shipment. The trial confirms the temperature window, blade speed and discharge behavior on the actual powder the customer plans to bond. Nitrogen flow and the bonding detection signal are checked during the same trial. CE and ISO9001 certificates accompany the shipment, consistent with the about Chenxing Machinery page.
Export packing follows the same practice as previous lines. The machine is wrapped with PE film, fixed on a wooden pallet with steel strapping, and the PLC and inverter are protected against moisture during sea transport. Lead time for a standard 30 kg unit is about three to four weeks after confirmation, depending on the trial program in the workshop. Documentation includes the operation manual, wiring diagram, spare parts list and the trial report from the aluminum flake run. Additional files sit in the downloadable machine files area, and the latest company news page carries shipping notices. The full scope is visible in the product range and wider machine range.
The standard unit takes 25 kg minimum and 35 kg maximum, with 30 kg as the typical charge. The inverter drive keeps blade speed steady across that range, so small orders bond the same as a full load.
About 60-80 kg/h for small-order runs. A 30 kg batch loads, bonds and discharges in one pass, which is fast enough to fill a customer order and send it to the coating line on the same day.
Aluminum flakes are the common case, and the machine also handles other metal pigments that tolerate the same temperature window. Nitrogen protection is standard, so oxidation-sensitive pigments can run without losing sparkle.
The control target stays just below the resin softening point, typically in the range that keeps the powder free flowing while the flakes stick. The exact set point depends on your resin; it is confirmed with a trial batch before shipment.
Run a short purging powder charge to lift residual pigment, then wipe the chamber wall, blade edges and discharge chute. On the 30 kg size the whole color change takes minutes, which is the point of a small-batch machine.
It is standard, not an add-on. The nitrogen blanket purges the chamber before the cycle and stays on until discharge, which matters when you bond aluminum flakes that oxidize easily.
The standard supply is 380V 50Hz 3 phase. Other voltages can be quoted when the inverter and PLC are specified for the plant supply, so mention the local voltage in the enquiry.
Up to 400 parameter sets. Operators recall a saved temperature curve, adjust the batch weight and press one-key start for the next shade, which shortens color change on repeat orders.
The batch load is confirmed at 35 kg maximum on the standard chamber. For a 60 kg order you run two batches on the same machine, or we quote the larger chamber option at enquiry.
Operation manual, wiring diagram, spare parts list and the trial report from the aluminum flake run. CE and ISO9001 certificates accompany the shipment, and the common machine questions page lists setup and maintenance topics.
To quote accurately we need four things: the target powder type and resin system, the metallic pigment type and its loading percentage, the batch size you plan to run, and the plant voltage. Send those details to Nicole and we confirm the recipe window, the trial program and the delivery date. The original product listing with view more machine details is available for reference.
